Awaken your child’s social success with North Texas Pediatric Therapy, where our speech sessions are specialized to inspire growth and confidence.
Here at North Texas Pediatric Therapy, we use specialized speech therapy. We don’t just help with talking and understanding words.
We teach important life skills to children and teens. Learning these skills helps them do well in all scenarios, be it places like be it at home, school, or in their community in Dallas or Mesquite, Texas.
We help children say words and make sounds so others can understand them well. Articulation, i.e., the production of sounds and words the placement of the tongue when speaking, is the focus here.
If the child speaks in a choppy, robotic way or stutters, we teach them to speak smoothly and share their thoughts easily.
A raspy and hoarse voice is natural and common in a lot of children. But did you know it can be changed through proper guidance and effective training?
For children who have trouble expressing themselves verbally, we use special tools to help them communicate without talking. We use Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) to develop a system of non-verbal communication.
Sometimes kids find it hard to follow or listen to more than one direction at a time. This is caused by underdeveloped receptive language skills. We help them get better at understanding what they hear.
If your child struggles with eating or has digestive problems, believe it or not, it might be because of how they swallow their food. There are correct tongue posture exercises and training that we use to help children.
Learning words and using them along with gestures like nodding and thumbs up is a big part of communication. We help children learn, develop this skill, and communicate better.
Sometimes, how our brains work can affect how we pay attention, remember things, and understand. These skills are not innate, and we teach these skills in speech therapy.
Knowing when to talk to adults and children, understanding signals and cues without words, and having engaging and meaningful conversations are all important skills. We teach children all about it and cover everything needed to have effective communication.
